SOMETIMES….(not-all-the-time) you don’t really have to buy new clothes for every event you attend.I am only telling this to those who are like me a year ago.
I recently took this conviction seriously because I was that type of girl who always felt the need to be in a new outfit whenever I was invited to an event, knew two weeks in advance I was going to travel or any sort of meet up with friends I hadn’t seen in ages.Do not get me wrong,I am not saying you don’t buy clothes when you are traveling or when there is a new event you need to attend looking all glamorous and stuff.I am saying sometimes you can jazz up what you already own into a new piece. So I created this mix and match series to help the few out there, like me,transition pieces within their Closet during such occasions or better yet,for new University looks.I mean lets face it,some of us do not want to be seen in all the exact same outfits we had last semester because you didn’t have funds or time for shopping.
So I can’t really say I was that preppy-clueless in my style before but I was that girl who only wore pink and purple because they were my favourite colours, and judging from the cartoons I loved then, the characters only wore their favourite colours as well,eg,the power puff girls(green, blue and red),Ben 10(black and white),All the scooby doo cast and so on.Lets just say I knew I was on then right track then.Looking back now,I somehow
just-a little regret not exploring other colours.
Back to the point,Recently for me,I think sticking to neutral colours for example like I have here gives me a chance to spend a little more on pieces in my closet I know I can wear a ton of different ways.I paired this gorgeous circle skirt with (I so bet you didn’t know this) a side cropped little black dress that I so dearly incorporated into a top. I will post it soon here.As for the borrowed clutch bag from mother and my lovely black and white lace heels, they just did good justice to my look, making it elegant and perfect for an evening out.I got the darling skirt from a very close friend of mine who so happens to have designed it.Nelly Leriari. You can check out how she amazingly styles her circle skirts and probably grab yourself one via her Instagram handle Nelly Leriari. The only reason I wouldn’t have soooo many white pants or skirts is because of the turmoil you will go through that entire day whereby you always have to spotlessly clean anywhere you intend to sit and also ensure no one unintentionally touches your skirt with dirty hands, aaargh….
On a side note though,I am pretty much loving the Tulle skirts I am seeing around of late (see here)and telling by the way this year is getting off to a great start,I have a feeling it’s just the beginning.Have a fabulous week guys
